Argentinian star Lionel Messi stated that Inter Miami will be his last club before closing his professional career, when the relentless ticking of the clock begins to make its presence felt in his spectacular sports career.

After almost two decades in the elite of world football, the new champion of Qatar 2022 exposed that decision in an exclusive interview with ESPN: "Yes, I believe so. Nowadays, I think it will be my last club," he said when asked if he would hang up his boots at the Major League Soccer club.

Days before his umpteenth adventure with Argentina in the 2024 Copa America, the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021, and 2023) also made it clear that he is still not ready to walk away from the pitch.

"All my life I have done this, I love playing ball, I enjoy the training, the day-to-day of the games... And yes, a little fear that it will all end is always there," pointed out, at 36 years old, considered by many as the best player in history.

In this sense, the owner of three "The Best" awards expressed that "I try to enjoy, that's why I enjoy everything much more because I am aware that time is running out and I have a good time (...). I enjoy the little details that I know I will miss when I stop playing."

"La Pulga" signed a contract with Inter Miami until December 2025 and has questioned his participation in the upcoming global tournament, which will take place in 2026 in Mexico, Canada, and the United States on more than one occasion.

At the moment, the player from Rosario is the natural leader of the "albiceleste" team led by coach Lionel Scaloni and Inter Miami, alongside his friends Luis Suárez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, amidst speculation about the arrival of Ángel Di María.
