A 15-year-old Cuban teenager who had been missing since June 9th in the Mexican city of Chihuahua, has been found safe and sound.
The minor, a native of Cienfuegos who had been living with her parents for seven months in Mexican territory, was found this Saturday in the municipality of Guerrero, in the same state of Chihuahua, in the north of the country.
The teenager stated that her absence was voluntary, and it was ruled out that she was a victim of any crime, as reported by the local press citing a statement from the Attorney General's Office.
After receiving the missing persons report, the Unit for Missing Girls, Adolescents, and Women initiated an immediate search that led the agents to the municipality of Guerrero, where they located the teenager.
No other circumstances about how the Cuban minor was found or the reason that led her to leave the cohabitation with her parents have been disclosed.
Previously, it had been reported that the family intended to cross into the United States, even though they already had a job and residence in the capital of the state of Chihuahua.
In recent months, several Cubans have been reported missing in Mexico, amidst a migratory crisis that drives many citizens from the island to embark on dangerous routes controlled by coyotes and traffickers.
In recent days, it emerged that another Cuban, 62 years old and identified as Oscar Luis Marcos Roso, has been missing in the Mexican state of Tabasco since June 4th.
