A 15-year-old Cuban teenager identified as Lismailen Galban Gil disappeared on June 9 in the city of Chihuahua, in northern Mexico, where she had been living with her parents for seven months.

The minor, originally from Cienfuegos, was last seen on June 9, 2024, under unknown circumstances, according to the disappearance report issued by the State Prosecutor's Office.

The Specialized Women's Prosecutor's Office (FEM) is in charge of the search, with ministerial agents working to locate her.

Disappearance profile

Among other characteristics, Lismailen has a mole on the right side of her chest and another one on the left side of her neck. She is 1.55 meters tall, weighs 55 kilograms, has fair skin, a regular build, dark hair, brown eyes, an oval face, a large straight nose, and a medium-sized mouth.

The family, who had been in Chihuahua for seven months, intended to cross into the United States but already had a job and address in the state capital.

The previous day it was reported that another Cuban identified as Oscar Luis Marcos Roso, 62 years old, is missing in the Mexican state of Tabasco since June 4th.

In February, a Cuban also disappeared while in Mexico. He had his CBP One appointment scheduled to cross into the United States.

Another Cuban identified as Igdelnaire Matamoros Bubaire disappeared that month in the city of Tapachula, where thousands of migrants of different nationalities have been stranded for months.

These disappearances are part of the migration crisis that drives many Cubans to dangerous routes controlled by coyotes and traffickers, where several have disappeared or lost their lives.
