In the midst of the serious energy crisis, the province of Ciego de Ávila joined the sale of coal to the population, which is already taking place in other regions of the country.

The Livestock Company Ruta Invasora took the lead in the "Embracing the Neighborhood" call, which is currently taking place in the Indalecio Montejo neighborhood of Ciego de Ávila, by selling sacks of charcoal at an affordable price for the population," wrote the officialist newspaper Invasor on the social network Facebook.

This decision is made because a large number of Cuban families use electricity for cooking their food; however, these usual processes have been interrupted due to the prolonged and continuous power outages that the regime is causing for Cuban families.

Recently, it became known that among people from Ciego de Avila, the sale of burners that use charcoal as a fundamental element has become popular. An idea born from the private sector of the country.

The entrepreneur indicated in a Facebook group, where he was promoting the sales of this product, that its value was 1,500 Cuban pesos.

A few weeks ago, the authorities of Santiago de Cuba also reported the sale of charcoal to the population "as an alternative in the face of the electro-energetic deficit and fuel situation" in the country, according to the words of the governor of that territory, Manuel Falcón Hernández.

Power outages seem to not end for Cubans, in a scenario marked by the shutdown of the Felton thermoelectric plant due to a break and a fire in the fuel tank of the Antonio Guiteras thermoelectric plant (CTE) in Matanzas, which, according to authorities, is already under control and did not take said entity out of the National Electrical System.

In addition, in recent statements, authorities from the Cuban Electric Union denounced the increasing theft of oil from transformers in the country's electrical substations as one of the factors that further complicates the energy situation in Cuba.
