Putin arrives in North Korea to seal alliance with Kim Jong-un.

Both countries share being subjected to UN sanctions: North Korea since 2006 for its prohibited nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and Russia for the invasion of Ukraine.

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, arrived in North Korea to meet with Kim Jong-Un, the leader of that Asian nation, amid a scenario where the Russian invasion of Ukraine seems likely to continue due to Volodimir Zelensky's refusal to accept the aggressor country's conditions.

Putin's arrival in Pyongyang represents the first summit between leaders of both countries in decades, as well as a key moment for Kim, who has not received another head of state in the country since the COVID-19 pandemic, as highlighted by CNN.

Although the Kremlin stated that this is "a friendly State visit," the world is concerned about this stay due to North Korea's support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Accusations from the United States and its allies have proliferated against North Korea for supplying weapons to Russia, including ballistic missiles for use in Ukraine.

However, despite Pyongyang's denial of these accusations, before his departure to North Korea, Putin thanked the military support provided by that country. "We greatly appreciate the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) firmly supporting Russia's special military operations in Ukraine," Putin wrote in an article published in North Korean state media.

The two countries also share being subjected to UN sanctions: North Korea since 2006 for its prohibited nuclear and ballistic missile programs, and Russia for the invasion of Ukraine.
