How people bathe in Cuba when there is no electricity

The reality with power outages, however, is far from amusing.

A Cuban has sparked laughter, reactions, and comments on TikTok by showing "one of the ways" in which they bathe on the island when there is no electricity.

Yan Carlos, who goes by the username @con_cuba_barber on social media and lives in Italy, is currently on vacation on the island, as he recently shared on social media.

"When the electricity goes out and you have to find a way to cool off your body," she wrote on TikTok when sharing the post where she was seen 'bathing' in the middle of the yard using water from a reservoir.

"This is a way people bathe here in Cuba when there is no electricity," he comments while refreshing himself.

The video has sparked a variety of responses on the social network, where some users expressed nostalgia: "It reminded me of when I lived in Cuba"; "I used to bathe like that, it's normal", "How nice, I have a shower here but I would like to do that"; "And when there's electricity too".

Others expressed surprise or rejection of his method: "And shower gel to wash all his parts???"; "Never in my time living there did I bathe in this way, that is filthy."

But beyond the humorous tone of the video and the comments in the same vein, the situation of electricity on the island is far from being a joke.

The constant power interruptions and prolonged blackouts are sadly part of the daily life of Cubans, who are forced to resort to improvised solutions for everyday tasks.

This reality, although portrayed lightly on social media, is a reflection of what the Cubans on the island are suffering due to the incessant blackouts.

What do you think?
