Part of a house collapses in Cerro.

The collapse occurred at a house located on the corner of Florencia and San Gabriel streets, in the municipality of Havana, where according to reports, there were no victims.

In the midst of heavy rains in the Cuban capital, the collapses of houses are relentless for the population, and this Saturday added a new incident as the collapse of part of a house was reported in the Cerro municipality.

Users on social media reported the partial collapse of a house at the corner of Florencia and San Gabriel streets in the Havana neighborhood, where according to reports, there were no victims.

My Havana keeps falling, here we have another collapse. Florencia and San Gabriel, El Cerro holds the key," indicated the profile Asere already, on platform X.

The published photographs show a large amount of debris on the street, after the structures of the porch and part of the roof of the house collapsed.

Other Cuban Facebook accounts echoed the news. However, so far, the event has not been confirmed by the authorities.

A post by the user identified as Tito Yeniel Tito stated: "With this catastrophe, you will see more with these downpours" that are falling.

Meanwhile, in the video he uploaded to the internet, he pointed out: “Look at this downpour, here on the corner of Florencia and San Gabriel, that house just collapsed and many more will continue to fall, let it clear up and the sun come out.”

The publications do not provide further details about the collapse of the building, which adds one more to the endless list of collapsed homes in recent times in Cuba, a number that has increased this week.

Last Tuesday night, a collapse in Old Havana left at least one person injured, after part of a building located on Monte Street between Águila and Ángeles collapsed.

As early as Thursday, three people were injured after a balcony collapsed onto El Tablazo café, located on 1st Street, between C and D, in Vedado.

Less than 24 hours had passed when a fatal collapse occurred. In the early hours of Friday, a wall collapsed and fell onto the roof of a home on Calzada del Cerro, between Carvajal and Patria, in the Cerro municipality, leaving one person dead and two injured.

That same day, the top part of a two-story house in the municipality of Playa collapsed. Fortunately, the residents of the house had time to get out before the incident occurred.

During the night, in the midst of a blackout, a home in Alacranes, in the municipality of Unión de Reyes, in the province of Matanzas, partially collapsed.

As if that were not enough, on Saturday afternoon, the roof of the building known as "El Confite" in the municipality of Colón, also in Matanzas, collapsed, without causing injuries or loss of human lives.

These events demonstrate the alarming state of deterioration of homes and other properties in Cuba, due to the lack of maintenance of the buildings.

Far from being isolated incidents, they are part of a recurring pattern that highlights the poor management of the Cuban government in terms of construction and infrastructure repair.
