The popular television host in Peru, José Peláez, revealed that his father was a political prisoner in Cuba for 13 years, a story that moved his followers.

Through the cameras of the TV show "El Gran Chef Famosos" and shared on YouTube, the charismatic host shared with the viewers part of the story of his father's life, who has been a source of inspiration in his life.

"He was a political prisoner. He was a hero to many people," expressed Peláez in front of the jury and the participants of the new season of the television show, while showing a photograph of him alongside his dad.

He pointed out that his father helped many people who were in danger in the Caribbean nation and were being harassed by the regime: "There were many people that he even managed to get out of Cuba, people who were being persecuted, people who were going to be killed or people who were going to have problems. He helped many people and for that reason he ended up being imprisoned for 13 years."

The speaker moved those present by recalling the unconditional love of his father despite years of suffering in prison: "It is difficult for me to imagine the trauma that all of that can generate in you, and despite the great traumas that my dad may have had, he was always an endless source of love."

Finally, he mentioned the great influence his father had on his life: "If I manage to be half as good a person as he was, I will always consider myself satisfied. So wherever you are, dad, I love you very much."

Political prisoners who are currently incarcerated in Cuban prisons for demanding their rights often have families who also suffer from harassment by State Security.

Recently, Pedro Antonio Albert, son of Cuban political prisoner Pedro Albert Sánchez, denounced that the regime on the island is allowing his father to die by denying him access to medical care and medication at correctional facility 1580 in Havana.

From the social network Facebook, the descendant of the inmate, who is serving a five-year sentence for his participation in the protests of July 11, 2021, expressed his discontent over the lack of care for his father, just on a day marked by the celebration of Father's Day, "a day on which we should be with the family."
