A man cut his partner's face, a young teacher, on Tuesday afternoon in Santiago de Cuba.

The victim's name is Tatiana Alcolea, she is 24 years old, and she is the mother of two young children from a previous relationship.

A follower of the independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada told him that apparently the perpetrator was waiting for the young woman to return from work. "He cut her face so that her tooth was visible," she said.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of the Golden Boat, in the José Martí district.

According to a witness, Tatiana was coming from the ATM with a friend and a girl when the assailant called her.

She stands to see what he wants, he asks her something and she responds, but that was a matter of seconds. Suddenly he grabs her by the arm and they start struggling and he cuts her face, described in a testimony published on Facebook.

The victim resides on 40th Avenue, between 19th and 42nd, in the Nuevo Vista Alegre neighborhood. She was quickly assisted and taken to the Provincial Hospital Saturnino Lora, where she was treated by a maxillofacial specialist.

The attacker was identified as Carlos Manuel Correa Leyva and sells food from a cart. It was confirmed that he has done the same to other couples.

According to what an internet user told Mayeta Labrada, a few years ago, on December 30th, he macheted a woman named Yaima who lives in the San Pedrito neighborhood. The wounds were so deep that her arm bones and other parts of her body were visible. Everything happened in front of the victim's two small children.

The attacker was on the run for several days until he was found hiding inside the washing machine at his home.

"He was in prison for that, and Yaima withdrew the accusation. He served only a few years, and when he got out of jail, he started selling, but well, I just saw that he is doing really well now," a neighbor emphasized.

Up to this point, it is not known whether Correa Leyva has been arrested or is still on the run.

"He lives in a ground-floor house in Plan Novoa. His residence is on the corner, in the same block where the famous Carnavalitos del Novoa take place," the journalist revealed on Facebook.
