At least one person died Friday afternoon in a traffic accident in Tarará, East Havana.
A publication in the Facebook group "Traffic Accidents in Cuba," an internet user posted images of the incident and confirmed that there was "one deceased on the ground."
The photograph shows a minivan that apparently crashed into the railing of a bridge in Tarará.
On the left side of the road, a person whose body had already been covered can be seen.
Details of the incident are unknown, as well as whether there are more fatalities or injured victims.
The group's users have called on drivers in the island to take extra precautions and not drive at excessive speeds.
The accidents on the roads in Cuba have been increasing in recent months, due to irresponsibility and also to the energy crisis, as intersections with non-functioning traffic lights become common scenes of collisions across the country.
