Cubana returns to the island 12 years later: "First trip for my children getting to know their roots."

He shared several videos of his stay in Cuba on social media.

After twelve years away, a Cuban woman and her partner returned from Miami to the island to visit their family and take their children, who had never been to their parents' country, with them.

In several videos, which have prompted both praises and congratulations as well as the usual questions, he showed some of the places he had visited on this trip, which holds a special significance as the first one with his children, who were unaware of their roots.

The reactions to his return to the island more than a decade later were not long in coming, and in the comments, many shared their own stories as emigrants and the years since they last set foot in their native Cuba, highlighting the depth of the Cuban migration drama and the heavy burden that Cuban families bear with their separated members.

"I haven't been back in 8 years and my children don't know Cuba... I will return someday"; "It's been 18 years since I last went"; "Seeing your video made me nostalgic"; "I got goosebumps"; "8 years"; "I also returned after 12 years, Cuba hurts but heals the soul"; "After eight years I returned and felt nostalgic, there is nothing left now," they said.

After showing the hotel in Varadero where she had stayed, the young woman decided to address one of the criticisms for having traveled to Cuba.
