The former First Lady, Melania Trump, described her husband's attacker as a "monster" in a statement released this Sunday, pointing out that he tried to extinguish Donald Trump's passion, laughter, wit, and love for music, highlighting key aspects of the former president's life.

On the social network X, Melania recounted the shocking moment when a bullet hit her husband this Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, putting not only Donald's life at risk, but also that of their son Barron. She thanked the Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers who risked their lives to protect the presidential candidate.

To the families of the innocent victims who are now suffering because of this heinous act, I humbly offer my deepest condolences. Their need to draw upon their inner strength for such a terrible reason saddens me," Melania added, showing her support to all the individuals affected by this tragic event.

Melania also made a call for unity and love, emphasizing that political differences and political games are inferior to love and human commitment. "We are all humans and, fundamentally, instinctively, we want to help each other. American politics is just a vehicle that can uplift our communities. Love, compassion, kindness, and empathy are necessities."

"We have always been a unique union. America, the fabric of our beloved nation, is torn, but our courage and common sense must rise and unite us once again as one. With a hopeful tone, Melania concluded her message highlighting the importance of looking beyond political divisions and remembering the humanity that unites us: 'The dawn is here again. Let's come together. Now.'"

Additionally, in her letter, the former First Lady thanked all those who have shown their support in these difficult times, reminding that every politician is a human being with a loving family.

On her part, Ivanka Trump, daughter of the former president, thanked on the social network X the concern of Americans for her father.

"Thank you for your love and prayers for my father and the other victims of today's senseless violence in Butler, Pennsylvania. I appreciate the Secret Service and all other law enforcement officers for their swift and decisive actions today. I continue to pray for our country," he pointed out.

The former president commented on the recent attack he suffered during a rally in the city of Pennsylvania. He did so through his social media platform, Truth Social.

"I want to thank the United States Secret Service and all law enforcement for their quick response," Trump said regarding the performance of his bodyguards, which has been applauded by several politicians both inside and outside the country.

After the attack suffered by Donald Trump this Saturday in Butler, Pennsylvania, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) identified the shooter who attempted to assassinate the former president as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 years old and resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.

Crooks resided in the town of Bethel Park, about 35 miles south of the city of Butler, where the Republican leader's event was taking place. He graduated from Bethel Park High School in 2022.

He was registered to vote as a Republican, according to the Pennsylvania voter database.

The presidential elections in November would have been the first in which I could have voted.
