President Donald Trump spoke out about the recent attack he suffered during a rally in the city of Pennsylvania. He did so through his social network, Truth Social.
“I want to thank the Secret Service of the United States and all law enforcement for their quick response,” said Trump regarding the performance of his bodyguards, which has been applauded by several politicians both inside and outside the country.
The most important thing is that I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person who was murdered," he added, and included a person who was injured during the shooting.
The former president referred to "how incredible it is that this act is happening in our country."
About the shooter, who was shot down at the event, it was mentioned that "nothing is known" about his identity.
Trump confirmed that the bullet went through the "upper part of the ear".
"I immediately knew that something was wrong, as I heard several shots and immediately felt the bullet piercing my skin," he concluded.
After the attack and being taken to the hospital, Trump's presidential campaign reported that the former president was "fine" and was "being evaluated at a local medical center."
Various political figures immediately expressed their repudiation of the attack. Among them was the current president Joe Biden, who made brief statements on the matter.
