Biden addresses the nation following the attack on Trump: "We cannot allow this to happen."

The President of the United States, Joe Biden, said that he has tried to communicate with Donald Trump by phone.

In a brief statement to the press from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the President of the United States, Joe Biden, referred to the recent shooting at a rally of former president, Donald Trump, a presidential candidate of the United States.

"Everyone must condemn" the violent scenes in Pennsylvania, Biden said to reproach what happened this Saturday afternoon.

"I have tried to communicate with Donald. He is with his doctors," mentioned the leader in his brief intervention.

In response to the question of whether he believed there had been an assassination attempt, the Democrat replied that he wants to ensure "we have all the data" before issuing an opinion.

"We can't allow this to happen. We can't behave this way. We can't tolerate this," he added.

Additionally, the president stated, "there is no place in the United States for this type of violence. It's sick, it's sick."

Minutes earlier, Biden had issued a statement saying he was aware of what had happened.

"I'm glad to know he's safe and well. I'm praying for him and his family, and for all those who were at the rally, as we wait for more information," stated the current U.S. president.

On Saturday evening, Trump was evacuated for emergency reasons during a rally in Pennsylvania after shots were heard at the event.

There he was celebrating the last intervention before the Republican Convention, which will take place between Monday, July 15, and Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Milwaukee.

The former president is getting ready to be the official candidate for the United States elections by the Republican Party, to be held on Tuesday, November 5th.
