With goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal, Spain went from dream to reality, overcame an aggressive England 2-1, and conquered the Euro Cup trophy of Germany 2024 this Sunday.

Twelve years after their last victory, "La Roja" landed in the competition with more than just hope: the team was convinced of their talent, and the individual and collective skills were exhibited in each performance, despite the youth of some of the soldiers on the battlefield.

Williams opened the scoring at 47 minutes, delighting all his fans, but the English team managed to equalize in heroic fashion thanks to a precise strike from Cole Palmer in the 73rd minute.

When everything seemed destined for extra time, Oyarzabal (86) became a hero and a key figure with a goal that will remain forever in his record and in the memory of those who love the Iberian national team.

However, Dani Olmo will also be remembered for his header along the goal line, which stifled the second goal celebration of the British at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

In this way, Spain obtained its fourth continental crown, after the successes in 1964, 2008, and 2012, breaking the historical tie with Germany (1972, 1980, and 1996).

England, for its part, continues to not shake off the stigma despite the great talent of its squad, and the European dominance remains a pending issue.

All the champions of the European Championship:

• 4 titles: Spain (1964, 2008, 2012, and 2024)

• 3 titles Germany (1972, 1980, and 1996)

• 2 titles: Italy (1968 and 2020) and France (1984 and 200)

• 1 title: Greece (2004), Denmark (1992), Netherlands (1988), Portugal (2016), Czech Republic/Slovakia* (1976), and Russia** (1960)

UEFA designates this title to both countries in the title won by Czechoslovakia in 1976.

UEFA designates this title to Russia in the 1960 Soviet Union title.
