The European Football Championship is the most important national team tournament in the Old Continent. Its first edition took place in 1960, and since then, the most awarded teams have been Germany (three titles, three second places, and the same number of bronze medals) and Spain, which has also prevailed on three occasions, with the addition of one silver. The remaining countries that have been crowned champions are France (twice), Russia, Italy, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, and Portugal, each with one victory per capita. The current edition is the sixteenth and is contested by a dozen nations, with the final scheduled for July 11 at the Wembley Stadium in London.
