The former president and current nominee for the presidential candidacy in the United States, Donald Trump, was evacuated in an emergency during a rally in Pennsylvania after gunshots were heard at the event.

Trump was quickly removed from the stage where the presidential candidate's last speech was taking place before the Republican Convention, which will take place between Monday, July 15 and Thursday, July 18, 2024 in Milwaukee.

According to international news media reports, "Mr. Trump was seen crouching down to protect himself behind the lectern."

After his bodyguards tried to protect him, Trump stood up and raised his fist so that the attendees could see that he was okay, although he was injured.

The former president was quickly removed from the site in an armored vehicle.

The Republican Convention, which starts on Monday with nearly 2,400 delegates, is preparing to nominate Trump as the official candidate for the United States elections, to be held on Tuesday, November 5.
