Power outages in Cuba: "The heat wakes us up"

The energy crisis in the country continues, with long blackouts lasting more than 12 hours.

A young Cuban narrated his bitter experience with "alumbrones" and stated that the alarm clock for residents on the island is the heat.

It is no longer about blackouts but about bright lights. The new alarm for Cubans is the heat. That never fails. "When they cut off the power at 6:00 am, you wake up instantly," said David Lit (@onlit6) on TikTok.

His video was published in May, when the government was stating that there would be disruptions to the electrical service due to repairs at the country's thermoelectric power plants, in order to ensure the proper functioning of the National Electro-energetic System during the summer.

However, summer has arrived several weeks ago and power outages continue to plague the Cubans.
