The Pichy Boys sent a message to the Venezuelan people regarding the presidential elections this Sunday in the Andean country, which could mean the exit of the dictator Maduro from power.
In a post shared on their Instagram account, the Cuban comedy duo expresses their admiration for the Venezuelan people and encourages them to go to the polls on a "historic" day when "freedom is close."
"Beautiful Venezuela, gorgeous Venezuela. We want you to know that all Cubans who love freedom are with you! This weekend will be historic, freedom is near, fight until the end," they expressed.
"We are so proud of you! Hopefully, you will serve as an example for my people and we will all rise together against the tyrants. To all our Venezuelan brothers, we love you and you are in our prayers. Long live a free Venezuela!" the text concludes.
In March, the Venezuelan government announced presidential elections to be held on July 28, the birthday of Hugo Chávez and in memory of the "mega elections" on July 30, 2000, in which he was re-elected for the first time after the approval of a new Constitution.
Amid a massive interest among the population to participate in the process and exercise their rights, and great global anticipation, recent days have seen reports of arbitrary detentions of opposition members, leaders, and campaign workers.
This is compounded by Maduro's threats, who stated that if he loses there will be "a bath of blood" in his country, a threat that even frightened his friend, the President of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
The dictator, who succeeded Chávez in office with the help of the secret services of the Cuban dictatorship, is seeking a third term, despite criticism of his reelection in 2018, which was considered fraudulent by the opposition and is not recognized by the United States, Canada, the European Union, as well as by the Organization of American States (OAS), which labeled it a "farce."
On Friday, the Chavista regime denied entry to Venezuela for a delegation from the Spanish Popular Party that traveled to Caracas invited to the elections for the opposing candidacy of Edmundo González and María Corina Machado.
Spanish politicians who were part of the center-right party delegation were detained at Caracas airport and were ordered to return on another flight to Madrid.
