The father of the young Cuban @lainalcanzable29 is experiencing many firsts after arriving in the United States from Cuba. These first experiences are being witnessed through her TikTok profile, where her father has become a character in his own right after his first bath, going to the supermarket... But one of the videos that has been most successful is the one where the young woman captures the moment her father is looking for a cup to drink his coffee.
"I’m going to cut up three of those to have with coffee," the man says. "That’s for having milk and such," he adds, commenting on the cups that his daughter has.
Many users have identified with this newly arrived Cuban. "Oh friend, no one can take away our Cuban-ness," "I almost went crazy when I arrived and didn't have my Cuban-style mugs," or "I can imagine, that's what happens to us when we're newly arrived, but it's normal, later you'll loosen up and not remember after," they told her.
Meanwhile, @lainalcanzable29 is looking for some coffee mugs for her dad, a daily detail that he misses from Cuba and that highlights the importance of those little things.
