The National Civil Police (PNC) of Guatemala arrested two Cubans who, along with other foreigners, were traveling irregularly through the Central American territory.

The operation by the Guatemalan police was carried out to capture Rony "N," a 34-year-old coyote who was transporting migrants.

The capture took place at kilometer 181 on the Inter-American route within the jurisdiction of Chiquimula, said the PNC in a Facebook post.

The two Cubans, whose identities were not revealed, were traveling in a Chevrolet P-306BVR minibus and were arrested along with three Cameroonians, one Nigerian, and three Ecuadorians.

The detained coyote was made available to the court, while the migrants were provided with the necessary support and then transferred to the Guatemalan Institute of Migration at the Agua Caliente border, Esquipulas, Chiquimula, the police specified.

Last Friday, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, reported the rescue of six Cuban migrants, four men and two women, who were kidnapped in Cancun, in the municipality of Benito Juárez.
