The popular Cuban TikToker Frank El Mákina (@frankelmakina) mentioned in a recent video "Normal things in your country that are a dilemma in Cuba."
In the video, the young man -who has been living in Uruguay since the end of 2022- mentioned some of the many daily difficulties faced by Cubans in contrast to how things happen in other countries.
"Normal things in your country but that are a complete madness in Cuba," the video began, where he shared the odyssey of "the fact of being able to get a card."
"In Cuba, the most normal thing is to pay with cash; sometimes you even go to an ATM and there’s no money. It's an odyssey," he added.
Users reacted to their video with various comments, some of them expressing empathy and understanding towards the situation in Cuba: "What a hard life for Cubans in their country"; "How difficult everything is," "What an odyssey, truly," said some. "Effective is the best," added another. However, not everyone shared the same sentiment.
"Brother, all of that is true, but what I don't understand is what you gain by talking badly about our land," expressed a user, to which Frank responded clarifying that he was only talking about the existing situation due to the dictatorship.
A few days ago, Frank had shared another video on the same network showing what he had bought with 50 dollars in a purchase in Uruguay, a reality that contrasts with the sad everyday life of the shortages and difficulties that citizens in Cuba endure.
