The 13-year-old girl Alibenis Pérez Cisneros, reported missing in Santiago de Cuba since the previous week, has been found and is now with her family, reported the feminist platform YoSíTeCreo en Cuba.

The girl was found alive after the independent organization activated the Mayde Alert for her disappearance on Tuesday, in the Chicharrones neighborhood where she resides.

"We declare the alert for Alibenis Pérez Cisneros, 13 years old, from Chicharrones, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, to be closed, as he is now with his family," reported YoSíTeCreo en Cuba, while thanking the people who contributed to his location.

The platform assured that the alerts on social media for this case "allowed the girl to be found" and recommended that the family "seek specialized help to eradicate the causes of the disappearance."

The publication did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding the disappearance and subsequent discovery of the minor, nor about her health condition at the time she was found.

Last week, Alibenis left her house heading to the supply store located in El Polvorín, in the Chicharrones neighborhood, where she lives.

He was at an unknown location for at least a week, according to information revealed on social media.

Her family had requested urgent help to locate her, which mobilized many people who shared the alert.

Requests for collaboration to search for missing persons in Cuba have become very frequent on digital channels lately, amid a context of social insecurity due to the increase in crime in the country.

The Alerta Mayde was created by independent civil activists following the disappearance of the teenager Maydeleisis Rosales Rodríguez in Havana, in May 2021. Its purpose is to help find minors who are missing in Cuba, alive, in light of the lack of a police protocol and an early alert system for the disappearance of girls and boys.
