The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba (MINREX) is responsible for the international relations of the Cuban government. The Council of State appoints the minister as well as the six deputy ministers who oversee the various departments within the ministry. The mansion that serves as the headquarters of MINREX was originally owned by the Gómez-Mena family.
