Alexis Valdés shares an incredible anecdote about his father: "He had all his teeth removed in one day."

The presenter, dramatic actor, and comedian Alexis Valdés had an excellent relationship with his father Leonel Valdés. They worked together on television, both inside and outside of Cuba.

Alexis Valdés was a guest on the podcast "Como yo lo veo" and shared a charming anecdote about his father, the Cuban actor Leonel Valdés, remembering him as a man who made truly complex things seem easy.

The actress Claudia Valdés, wife of Alexis, invited him to the podcast on YouTube to discuss a topic that has marked the life of this family. She titled the interview "Humor in the Time of Cholera."

Alexis dedicated beautiful words to refer to his father, a very important figure in his personal and professional life.

"My father was a genius," he said proudly, recalling how his dad, who lived the last years in Spain, once traveled to Havana and had all his teeth removed at once, but the dentists were never able to take out a canine.

The anecdote has touches of tragicomedy. On one hand, it is surprising that the actor voluntarily subjected himself to such an aggressive medical practice, but on the other hand, it brings laughter to the audience due to his bravery and optimism in smiling for the rest of his life with a dental prosthesis designed with a gap for his natural canine tooth.

Leonel Valdés was a broadcaster, dramatic actor, comedian, and a great monologist of Cuban humor. He is remembered for several characters, but especially for being the Chief of Police in San Nicolás del Peladero, a television program where he would say the phrase: "Are you following me?".

On numerous occasions, Alexis Valdés has proudly mentioned the influence his father had on him, not only in his professional career in acting and comedy but also in his private life and family.
