Arrest the alleged mastermind of the attempted murder of Cuban Alex Vega in Miami.

Alex Vega's partner, Rolando Ramírez, was arrested as the alleged mastermind behind the attempted murder of the car designer in 2019.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrested Rolando Ramírez in Miami this Friday as the alleged mastermind behind the attempted murder of renowned car designer Alex Vega.

The arrest occurred following a raid on the luxury car repair shop Doral Collision Center, owned by Ramírez, who claims to be innocent. The FBI's investigation is related to the attack that Vega suffered in 2019.

The Cuban-American Alex Vega is the owner of the company Avorza Vodka and the famous workshop The Auto Firm, specialized in designing high-end cars.

Vega is known for customizing vehicles for celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Marc Anthony, Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Don Francisco, and Michael Jordan, among many other famous people in Miami.

On August 27, 2019, the car designer was shot while parking his car in the lot of his home in southwest Miami-Dade.

A man, wearing a mask, black hoodie, shorts, and gloves, approached and fired several times, wounding Vega in the back. The attacker fled immediately, but a security camera captured the shooting.

After the incident, Vega was taken by rescuers to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and recovered in stable condition. Immediately, the family of the Cuban-American businessman offered a reward of $10,000 to facilitate the capture of the responsible party.

Two people were arrested and sentenced to prison terms for this case. The citizen Julián Jiménez was the one who shot Vega. The other implicated person is named James Serrano and was the one driving the vehicle in which the shooter escaped from the crime scene.

However, the FBI has not yet closed the investigation. Univisión Noticias highlighted in its report that Rolando Ramírez is likely a partner of Vega, which, if true, adds complexity to the case.

Despite the attack that nearly cost him his life, Alex Vega recovered and continued his professional career. In 2021, Mayor Francis Suárez presented him with the keys to the City of Miami for being a businessman committed to his community.

The arrest of Ramírez marks a significant advance in the investigation and could shed light on the motivations behind the attempted murder of one of Florida's most influential car designers.
