A partial collapse at the primary school "Holvein Quesada," located in the Santa Amalia neighborhood of the Arroyo Naranjo municipality in Havana, has highlighted the worrying state of deterioration of educational centers in Cuba.

The incident occurred during school holidays, which prevented a greater tragedy that could have happened if the collapse had occurred during school hours, with children and teachers present, as warned by the Facebook page La Tijera.

This school has been showing signs of structural wear for years, making this collapse a warning about the precarious conditions in which it, and many other educational institutions across the country, are located.

The situation of this school is not an isolated case, as numerous schools across Cuba are facing similar deterioration, putting the safety of thousands of students and teachers at risk, warned La Tijera.

However, the regime claims that the country is ready to begin the school year next September. This was reported during a national tour conducted by Naima Ariatne Trujillo, the Minister of Education, reported Radio Habana Cuba.

The deterioration of properties in Cuba is so alarming that incidents are being reported throughout the country, even being captured in casual videos.

The partial collapse of a building in Havana was recorded by Cubans who witnessed the scene and the critical moment of the balcony falling from the structure.

The video, shared on Instagram by the user identified as The Spartan Vlog, captured the moment when the balcony of a dilapidated building collapsed and fell onto the sidewalk in front of the gaze and comments of several neighbors.

At the end of June, three people were injured after the collapse of a balcony that fell onto the café El Tablazo, located on 1st Street, between C and D, in El Vedado.

In April, the collapse of an awning on San Lázaro and Gervasio streets, in the municipality of Centro Habana, led to the collapse of several balconies on the first floor of dilapidated buildings.

At the beginning of August, the staircase of a multi-family building collapsed in Old Havana, leaving several residents in the area cut off from communication.
