A severe storm that hit the province of Villa Clara on Monday afternoon left multiple municipalities without electricity due to failures in the primary and secondary lines.

The affected lines include high voltage line 6375 in Santa Clara, 4608 in Corralillo, as well as the 33 kV lines 1205 in Sagua La Grande and 1210 in Quemado de Güines, reported the Electric Company of Villa Clara on Facebook.

The circuits without electricity cover a large area. For example, in Santa Clara, circuits 14, 15, 132, 162, 144, 7, 131, 22, 146, 24, 25, 35, 153, 40, and 193 were affected, the entity specified.

For its part, circuits 56, 57, 58, 60, and 159 were damaged in Corralillo.

In Sagua La Grande, the circuits 43, 51, 45, 197, 147, 44, 48, 50, 136, 47, and 49, and in Quemado de Güines, the circuits 52, 53, 164, 55, and 196.

Secondary and service outages were also reported in the municipalities of Remedios, Placetas, Manicaragua, and Santo Domingo.

Lineman teams are working intensively to restore electrical service as soon as possible, emphasizes the note from the state company, which asks for "patience from the affected residents" and recommends taking precautions in case of possible interruptions in other essential services.

The grave energy situation affecting Cubans is a recurring problem that the government has been unable to solve, despite promises to minimize blackouts during the summer.

The regime promised to reduce service outages during the holiday months, but at the end of July, it stated that the lack of diesel fuel, along with a couple of "unexpected" breakdowns, was preventing them from achieving stability in the electric service.
