Former American president Donald Trump announced this Tuesday the piecemeal sale of the suit he wore on the night he claims to have "knocked out" President Joe Biden in the electoral debate on June 27.
"It's really something extraordinary. Each physical collectible card has an authentic piece of my suit that I wore for the presidential debate, and people call it the 'knockout' suit [...] and it's a piece of American history," the former president pointed out in a video posted on the X account created for that purpose.
A total of 2,024 pieces of the suit will be put up for sale, according to the website reporting on the unusual sale.
The pieces of fabric will be incorporated into physical collectible cards that can be obtained by purchasing digital collectible cards.
However, it is not that simple, as a digital card—a kind of virtual postcard with an image of the former president—costs 99 dollars and one will only be entitled to receive the physical card if at least 15 digital cards are purchased.
That is to say, having a piece of Trump's suit, measuring just over 0.04 square feet, will cost $1,485.
If more than 75 cards are purchased in a single transaction - with a prior payment of $7,425 - the buyer will also have the right to attend as a guest at a gala dinner at the Jupiter country club in Florida, which will be attended by the Republican candidate.
For 250 cards -equivalent to 24,750 in expenses- two tickets for the dinner, two for a prior reception, and two physical cards with a larger piece of the suit will be received.
