Cuban asks Yusuam Palacios what he thinks about the U.S.: "A lot of things."

This Cuban congressman is known for his peculiar and controversial interventions, which have made him a target of criticism and mockery on social media.

The Cuban deputy Yusuam Palacios Ortega was unexpectedly interviewed on a street in Havana about what he thinks when he hears the name of a neighboring country: the United States.

"I think about many things, many things. We would need to focus on many aspects to answer that question. We have to form an analysis group to avoid being superficial (...) Many analyses, and in many aspects," Yusuam said.

Her words have been shared on various profiles on the social networks of Cubans and have generated numerous reactions, ranging from comments full of humor to criticisms of the empty rhetoric of politicians and officials on the island.

"The robot was not prepared to answer the question. It had low batteries," said a user. "It doesn't want to commit; it must have the parole on," commented another. A third person pointed out: "It's a typical case of a communist leader; they talk and talk and say nothing."

Palacios is a deputy to the National Assembly of People's Power for the Holguin municipality of Sagua de Tánamo. However, he has lived in Havana for years and is a known figure for his staunch "anti-imperialist" and "Martian" discourse, constantly reaffirming the interests of the regime.

In mid-December 2023, Palacios Ortega launched harsh criticisms against the Cuban civil society that opposes the regime, describing them as "beings of low soul." He accused the opponents of lacking ethics due to their attacks on the government.

This Cuban deputy is known for his peculiar and controversial interventions, which have made him a target of criticism and mockery on social media, where his statements often generate dozens of sarcastic comments.
