One person dies after scaffolding collapse at a building in Miami Beach.

The serious accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.


A worker was hospitalized in critical condition and later died after the partial collapse of a scaffolding at a condominium building in Miami Beach.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of this Tuesday at the Villa Di Mare building, located at 5801 Collins Avenue, where Miami Beach police and fire rescue teams responded after the tragedy.

Aerial images released by the local press showed the damaged scaffolding hanging at the side of the building, which is undergoing repairs.

The authorities closed off part of the area where the tragedy occurred, in search of clues that could contribute to the investigation.

City officials in Miami Beach said that one person was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition and later died due to the severity of their injuries. A second person was treated on the scene.

The authorities have not revealed the identities of those involved, nor the name of the company involved.

No other details about the alleged cause of the accident have emerged, which is currently under investigation.

The cited source revealed that the building where the tragedy occurred was constructed in 2002 and consists of 13 apartments.
