A child from Cárdenas, Matanzas, who suffered severe burns on his face in a domestic accident, is making progress in his recovery thanks to the supplies sent from Miami by the Cuban exile community.
"Here is the proof of the miracles of Papa Dios, in less than 20 days look at how the child from Matanzas is doing. Tomorrow is his birthday, thanks to all the people who helped me heal this champion," said the administrator of the Pesca en Miami project on Facebook, who organizes donations for people in need in Cuba.
The good Samaritan has been sharing photos of the minor's recovery since he was burned in mid-August.
The case came to light when an internet user shared photos of the injuries on the child's face, who was then admitted to the pediatric hospital in Matanzas, and asked for help to obtain medications that were not available in the hospital.
More than two weeks later, Giorvis Daniel Rodríguez, who turns three years old on September 5, is much better thanks to the solidarity of his compatriots in Miami.
The group Pesca en Miami released the photo of the kitchen where the accident occurred that threatened Giorvis Daniel's life.
"They live in poor conditions; someday I know that blessings will come to this family," said the author of the post.
The child's mother, Anni Rodríguez Sánchez, recounted how the accident occurred and emphasized that there was no negligence.
According to what he said, his home is very humble and the wooden platform was in very bad condition, so they decided to change it. When they removed the plywood, they found many ants and used alcohol to burn them.
Apparently, a mishandling caused the entire bottle to catch fire, and the flames shot out up to six or seven meters, where the child was.
