One deceased in an accident on the Palmetto highway in Miami after a driver crashed into a tree.

A man who was behind the driver died instantly. The driver and two other passengers sustained severe injuries.


One person dead and three others injured is the main toll from an accident that occurred on the Palmetto highway after a driver crashed into a tree.

According to the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR), the incident occurred on Friday shortly before noon in the Miami Gardens area, on SR 826 heading east, at Northwest 17th Avenue.

The tragic accident caused the closure of the eastbound lanes of the highway, west of the Golden Claros interchange. The situation lasted several hours on Friday afternoon.

Images taken from the air showed a Honda Accord sedan with side damage and a tarp on the road. Firefighters, Florida Highway Patrol agents, and Miami Gardens Police responded to the scene.

The official information, provided by Local 10, indicates that the driver swerved to avoid several debris, lost control, and crashed into a tree.

The victim is a man who was behind the driver. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two other passengers suffered severe injuries and were airlifted to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital with serious injuries.

The name of the deceased has not yet been revealed to the press.
