A Cuban TikToker shared a charming video in which she remembers Novatropín, a medicinal syrup that was used to relieve digestive system issues and was so tasty that children liked to drink it even when they didn't need it.
The Cubana del Pijama Rosa "accused" the parents of her generation of being "irresponsible," because the custom in homes was to leave the bottle of medication at the door of the refrigerator.
Having a sweet taste and being cold, the kids loved to take a sip secretly, even if their stomachs didn't hurt.
"The only means of security was your mom's threat as she told you, with a flip-flop in hand: 'get ready if you take that,'" the young woman recounted.
"But each and every one of us would take a swig every time we wanted something sweet, because it wasn't easy to find something sweet. But that medicine was the most delicious thing in life," he added.
The Cuban woman... talked about the feeling it gave her as a child to know that there was Novatropín in the house, similar to when her parents put a can of condensed milk in the refrigerator.
"It was the adrenaline of drinking condensed milk when you wanted something sweet, but Novatropín was faster, because you would get attached to the can and the milk wouldn't come down, because it was hard inside from the cold. So you had to do it when they weren't home and weren't watching you," he joked.
