Cubans honor the Virgin of Charity of Cobre on her day.

From songs to the Virgin to raffles in her honor, this is how the activities of her festivities have transcended in Cuba and parts of the world.

On September 8th, the commemorations for the feast day of the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre, the Patroness of Cuba, have been significant both inside and outside the island.

The images of devotees praying for the Cuban nation and its children, as well as the yellow clothing and flowers of the same color, with sunflowers being the preferred flower, along with the Virgin's journey through different towns and cities, have been recurring on this date.

From Santa Clara, the Diocese of that city had a peculiar initiative and sang Las Mañanitas, traditional Mexican music for celebrating birthdays, to the Virgen mambisa, as she is also known.

The streets of cities like Pinar del Río and municipalities in that province were filled with worshippers who venerated the image of the Cuban Virgin.

The celebration was more modest in the town of Unión de Reyes, in Matanzas, as well as in Las Tunas, where attendees gathered in Vicente García park.

Florencia, in Ciego de Ávila, and Cienfuegos were also territories where the processions with devotees of the Virgin took place.

Outside the island, Cubans and believers in the Virgin of Charity of Cobre also gathered at churches and places of worship.

In Barra de Coyuca, Guerrero, Mexico, the devotees gathered around the image of the Virgin and walked her through the town.

Also in Puerto Rico, in the Parish of Our Lady of Charity of El Cobre, in San Juan, she was remembered as the Patroness of Cuba and the local communities of Buena Vista, Las Monjas, Parada 27, Urbanización Piñeiro, and Renaissance Square Complex in Hato Rey.

Finally, at the Ermita de la Caridad in Miami, the festivities that have been taking place for a week ended with a raffle for the Virgin.
