Cuban young woman celebrates 9 years in the USA: "Since I set foot in Miami airport, a new person was born."

Cuban on TikTok celebrates 9 years in the United States, sharing her struggle for freedom and personal growth.

A Cuban woman celebrated the ninth anniversary of her arrival in the United States on her TikTok profile (@mrs_wong1) with an emotional message about her adaptation process and the difficulties she has faced as an immigrant during this time.

"Today marks 9 years since I was reborn because that’s how I feel since the day I arrived in this country," expressed the young woman named Gaby, who arrived in Miami at just 16 years old.

The Cuban woman recounted her experience of arriving in a completely new country, without knowing the language and with no family to support her. "It has been the hardest 9 years of my life. Imagine arriving in a completely new country, without family and starting from 0," she commented. Despite the challenges, the young woman has managed to move forward thanks to her perseverance, working in two or three places at once to achieve her goals.

"Like any other immigrant, I have had to reinvent myself countless times, start from scratch, have 2 or 3 jobs at the same time, I spent months without resting between school and work. I was doing both full time to have a better future," he said.

Throughout these years, he also faced personal disappointments from friends and family. However, he highlighted the support he received from people who, without being family, extended a hand to him in the most difficult moments.

"I formed my family, the one I always wanted to have. And the most important thing of all: I had my daughters in this wonderful country. A country from which they will not have to emigrate to have a better future, but above all with the hope of being free. Unfortunately, in our country, there is no freedom," concluded this message.

This message reflects not only the personal struggle of this young woman but also the reality faced by many Cuban immigrants who arrive in the United States in search of new opportunities and freedom.
