Cuban disappointed by the hostility of Cubans abroad: "Sometimes I am ashamed to be Cuban."

A Cuban TikToker expresses disappointment at the lack of unity and empathy among Cubans abroad.

The content creator Azúcar de Cuba, known as Chiruza on TikTok, wanted to share a reflection with all her followers about the situations she has seen on the platform involving other Cubans, thus calling for empathy and unity among Cubans.

Throughout the video, @www.tiktok.com.azucar shared that after five months on the platform, she has encountered situations she has never seen on the island in her 37 years. "The conclusion I draw is that the Cuban who is in Cuba does not have the malice of the Cuban who is outside," comments the TikToker, based on what she has seen on TikTok.

"For me, when a Cuban arrives in the United States or another free country and realizes that they can express themselves freely without the restrictions we have, it unleashes their true self," adds the Cuban, who although she has found support from people, is hurt by the lack of empathy among Cubans.

"Sir, we are Cubans, children of the same land, let's not denigrate each other. No one of another nationality comes to my lives to criticize me," he asks.

To conclude his reflection, Azúcar de Cuba calls for empathy and sensitivity. "Help each other so that the world changes its opinion about the Cuban community," he says.

Many Cubans agree with the reflection and in the comments section said: "This country doesn't change you; here you learn to know the true personality of each one, it toughens you due to suffering, but feelings don't change, I have been away from Cuba for years" or "You are absolutely right, partly this country changes people, our people lose the beautiful customs with which we all grew up, and we start living with that 'every man for himself' mentality."

What do you think?
