Ulises Toirac shares a funny anecdote about Antolín el Pichón with Paulo FG during the recording of Sabadazo.

According to Ulises, the salsa musicians arrived late to the recording of the show: they would party until dawn or fall asleep from the concert the night before, and the actors had to wait.

The comedian Ulises Toirac recounted a funny anecdote that took place in Cuba in the 90s, when the popular show Sabadazo helped the people forget, at least for a little while, the shortages and hardships of the so-called Special Period.

Ulises recalled that at that time, comic actors were as famous and beloved as "the Beatles," but he clarified that there was always someone who brought their ego down, referring to the salsa musicians, who "were a world apart."

"Just like the comedians from Sabadazo, they were stars in the Cuban sky. There was a boom in Cuban dance music and the main figures of the orchestras were Marvel superheroes," he said on his Facebook wall.

According to the comedian, the salsa musicians always arrived late to the show recording. "Most of them would indulge a bit... or they simply couldn't get out of bed after the concert the night before," he said.

The actors, already dressed and made up, were sitting and chatting in the makeup room while they were waiting for them.

One day when Paulito FG was scheduled to perform, it was three in the afternoon and Antolín, desperate and annoyed, began to complain about the musicians' abuse.

"That Paulito! As if he were Alain Delon!" she exclaimed, not realizing that the singer had peeked his head into the living room without saying anything.

"With his nonsense and his little laugh, I don’t know who the hell he thinks he is!" added the guajiro from Manacas, while Paulito at the door looked at him with a serious expression.

The others could only try to hold back their laughter until Carlos Otero gestured for him to turn around.

The story concludes when the comedian turned around and upon seeing Paulito said, in an almost inaudible voice: "What's up, figure?"

"I couldn't count the number of people hitting the walls and sprawled on the floor laughing uncontrollably. I was enjoying laughing like I have rarely done in my life," concluded Ulises.
