A nightclub in the city of Santa Clara, in Villa Clara, was fined after several scams and price violations against the attendees were detected.

In the Piano Bar "El Dorado," a central location situated between the iconic Parque Vidal and the Santa Clara Boulevard, several violations were committed ranging from excessive charges to deceiving consumers, according to a post on the Facebook profile "Inspección Villa Clara."

Among the violations committed regarding prices was the sale of a can of Unlaguer beer for 230 Cuban pesos (CUP), when it should have been 200 CUP. A similar situation occurred with the imported Chanceler whisky bottle, which was sold for 2,000 CUP, instead of the appropriate price of 1,485 CUP.

It was also discovered that the staff of the nightclub charged 600 CUP per table, in addition to the 100 CUP paid by the customer at the entrance. The justification was that there were empty tables in the center, and it was necessary to somehow compensate the artists performing in the center.

The inspectors from Villa Clara reported that they fined the entity with amounts ranging from 8,000 CUP to 10,000 CUP, according to the corresponding decrees. Meanwhile, they sent "immediately" requests for disciplinary measures against those responsible for the violations.

The Piano Bar “El Dorado” emerged during a time when Santa Clara was reviving its nightlife, attempting to add a cultural touch to the main arteries of the city. However, the concept evolved over the years, and with the new times, the space is not immune to the crisis affecting the Cuban economy.

In Santa Clara, another example of a recreational place that has lost its direction is the La Minerva club. In 2019, this site was embroiled in a major corruption scandal, shortly after being re-inaugurated for just four months, when the administrators were ousted and the workers sanctioned.

Recently, during the summer season of July and August on the island, the government of Villa Clara imposed fines of up to 15,000 pesos on individuals involved in corruption cases at several hotels in the province.

During a review, numerous irregularities were detected at Motel Las Tecas and Hotel Riviera, including consumer deception, price violations, and illegal activities.
