"We are fighters and we can handle everything": Cuban TikToker responds to criticism and defends women on the island.

"And what are we going to be hungry for? For fried chicken? Are we going to be hungry for misery? There's already enough misery in the country where we were born for me to settle for crap."

The Cuban TikToker @elixir_karen, who lives in Madrid, is causing a stir online after responding to a comment that labeled Cuban women as "hungry for money."

In the video, the young woman rejects this accusation with a message that is captivating users: "They are hungry for money, that is, we Cubans... what are we going to be hungry for? For fried chicken? Are we going to be hungry for misery? There is already enough misery in the country where we were born for me to settle for crap."

Karen doesn’t stop there and continues to defend Cuban women, describing them as fighters who work hard and strive for a better life. "We Cuban women are fighters and we can handle it all. Why would I join up with a guy who is a burden and offers nothing? No way, if I'm fabulous, I can give myself everything," she asserted, rejecting the idea of depending on someone who doesn't contribute to her life. Furthermore, she concluded her message by saying: "Yes, we are hungry for money because that’s what we fight for, we work, we study, we strive, and we expect nothing less than that."

To close her speech, Karen added a touch of humor, poking fun at the initial comment before starting to dance to the rhythm of "La Batidora," a song by Oniel Bebeshito that has gone viral on social media, especially among users born on the island.

Users quickly reacted, and many praised the tiktoker's response: "Nice, I loved the response"; "Proud to be Cuban, things are as they are. Greetings from a Cuban in Spain, we can handle everything"; "All Cubans are warriors, very strong, especially very independent"; "Excellent response"; "It had to be said, and it was said"; "That's right, we Cubans are fighters, we don't need men to get ahead, blessings, compatriot," they told her.

Some comments even showed indignation at the perception of Cuban women: "I really would like to understand what the pain is with us Cuban women, God bless them," while another user ironized, "With great honor." Karen, for her part, thanked many of the users with comments like "Thank you, that's right, blessings" and "Sometimes it's necessary to clarify the level of Cuban women."
