A motorcycle rider suffered multiple fractures after being struck by a Moskvitch this Monday in the city of Holguín.
The accident occurred when the motorcyclist failed to stop at a stop sign, which led to the collision; however, despite the severity of the incident, the driver is out of danger, as reported in the Facebook group "Accidents in Holguin."
According to Iván Alejandro Marrero Garrido, the accident occurred at the intersection of Arias and Narciso López streets.
In the comments section, Juana María Pupo Domingo mentioned that the young man involved in the accident is out of danger, although he suffered fractures in his right arm and three ribs.
He also identified the victim as Serguey, a professor at the University of Holguín, and expressed, “Thank God he is alive; we hope for his swift recovery.”
The incident was also shared in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTES BUSES & CAMIONES por más experiencia y menos víctimas!”, where a person named Loredana Oviche noted, “Driving in the city of Holguín is so difficult and dangerous.”
In this regard, he pointed out that the blocks are short and the houses extend all the way to the corner, reducing visibility for the driver.
"Stop signs are often ignored, and if you're on a main street, you have to drive cautiously because if those who are supposed to stop don't, you're in trouble too," he emphasized.
