The Cuban activist Yamilka Laffita, known on social media as Lara Crofs, publicly denounced that she has been a victim of death threats due to her humanitarian work and her fight for a free Cuba.
In a message shared through her social media, the activist detailed the threats she has suffered and stated that, despite her delicate health condition, she continues to organize initiatives alongside other collaborators to support those in need on the island.
"I have been feeling unwell for a few days, which is why I have been less active on social media, but we have continued to work as much as we can," declared the activist and assured that she will not stop her work despite the intimidation she has received.
"State Security, I hold you directly responsible for what happens to me or to any of my family or friends," he emphasized. "I am literally unimpressed by your despicable threats. I know who I am, I know where I come from, and what I want most in my life is a Free Cuba; everything else is secondary."
Laffita has insisted that his support for Cubans will not cease, and he pointed out that the regime is the true culprit of the situation facing the country.
"My support for everything I believe is just and necessary will remain, as long as you continue to condemn this people to live in a tyranny," he expressed.
The activist publicly expressed gratitude for the support and respect from figures such as Professor Alina Bárbara López Hernández, who has become a reference for many in the struggle for civil rights in Cuba.
"Having your respect and trust is a great honor for me," Laffita emphasized, reaffirming his commitment to the cause of the Freedom of Cuba.
With this complaint, Lara Crofs seeks to highlight the intimidation faced by Cuban activists and emphasizes that, far from being intimidated, she will remain steadfast in her fight.
