Raúl Castro reappeared this Friday alongside the President of Vietnam, To Lam, amid rumors about a deterioration in his health condition.
A note published by the Presidency on X reported that Castro "received this Friday morning the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam and president of that sister nation, comrade To Lam, who is on a state visit to Cuba."
The day before, it was reported that the visitor arrived in Havana and met with ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, but the usual meeting with Castro had not been announced, who has been at the center of rumors since last week regarding a presumed deterioration of his health.
Raúl usually receives important politicians like the presidents of countries that have historical relations with the island.
The last time To Lam visited the island, two years ago, Castro, as the historical leader of the country, personally welcomed him.
Both politicians, army generals, share a strong bond due to their backgrounds in their respective countries, which have historically maintained good diplomatic relations.
