Three Cubans were arrested in the town of Tivoli, in the province of Rome, Italy, accused of violently snatching a woman's handbag.

The events date back to September 20, the day when the Carabinieri from the Castel Madama police station, in the mentioned Roman locality, arrested three Cuban citizens aged 25, 48, and 25 who were accused of assaulting a woman while she was waiting for her son to come out of school.

The modus operandi of the criminals consisted of distracting the woman by dropping coins on the ground. While the victim tried to pick them up, one of the men took advantage of her distraction to snatch her bag.

Upon realizing what had happened, the victim attempted to stop the three assailants, but she was pushed to the ground, resulting in several bruises.

Fortunately, despite the injuries, the woman did not suffer any serious wounds.

A security guard who was near the location witnessed the robbery and chased the criminals, who were trying to escape in a vehicle that had been stolen earlier.

Minutes later, a patrol of the Carabinieri nearby managed to apprehend the suspects.

When registering the car, the authorities found two knives, which increased the severity of the charges.

After their arrest, the three Cubans were transferred to Rebibbia prison, where they were placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority of Tivoli.
