The start of the technical review of armed vehicles by parts and pieces has been delayed in Cuba.

The causes that led to the delay are varied: from errors on the website to the correction of registrations made by the interested parties.

The start of the technical review of armored vehicles by parts and pieces, which was scheduled for this Tuesday, October 1, has been postponed by the Cuban government until the 14th of the same month.

According to information provided by the Minister of Transport Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, the causes of this delay are due to "complexities arising in the process of organizing appointments and managing the website developed for this stage."

The Cuban official also mentioned the existence of errors in registering some of the individuals, which "must be corrected before the start of the technical review."

In the national census of Armed Vehicles by Parts and Pieces in Cuba that concluded on August 22, a total of 107,670 cars were registered, of which 9,742 are in Havana.

The process had begun on June 24, following the publication of Resolution 95 of 2024 in the Official Gazette, which establishes the "Procedure for the homologation of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers, assembled from parts and pieces."

This regulation offers a new opportunity for those who did not participate in the 2021 census, where 121,000 vehicles were presented and 109,000 were approved.

In April of this year, Dávila Rodríguez warned that to have the right to a technical review, the vehicle must match the photo shown in the census; otherwise, the entire process is invalidated.

Vehicles declared Unfit may undergo a new technical inspection within 15 days following the first one. There will only be two opportunities to be approved.

On their part, the means of transport that are declared Suitable will receive a certificate that authorizes them to circulate and be registered in the Vehicle Registry offices of the Ministry of the Interior, where they will obtain their license plate.
