The emblematic Cuban film Los pájaros tirándole a la escopeta (1984) will be enjoyed again, but now in the theater, in a staging that will arrive at the Trail Theater in Miami in December.
It is one of the most popular comedies in Cuban cinema, and its stage version has the appeal of featuring two of its actors reprising their roles: Beatriz Valdés and Alberto Pujol. They go from being the "young couple" to playing their parents, roles that were portrayed by Reinaldo Miravalles and Consuelo Vidal in the film.
"What great joy! The birds shooting at the shotgun arrives this December at the Trail Theater," announced OMG Studios Miami on their Instagram account.
Alongside Beatriz and Albertico will be Susana Pérez and Carlos Cruz, as well as "the talented Jennyfer Rodríguez, Jeffry Batista, and Yusnel Suárez, who also directs this magnificent original story by the great Rolando Díaz."
Beatriz Valdés, this return to a work that brought her popularity in Cuba is "the greatest."
"What a wonder. What a privilege. A great adventure awaits us," he said.
For his part, young Jeffry Batista is excited to be part of the incredible project.
"It is a big part of Cuban culture along with great stars that I admire and respect. Here, what I have left is to enjoy the process and invite everyone to buy their ticket and not miss it," expressed Jeffry Batista.
Other Cuban artists such as Yuliet Cruz, Mónico Pino, and Albita Rodríguez celebrated the new theater production.
