Susana Pérez López is one of the most important Cuban actresses of all time. She was born on May 25, 1952, in Marianao, Havana, Cuba.

Her remarkable beauty and her great acting talent quickly made her the undeniable star of the Cuban telenovela for more than 20 years. Among the most popular for Cubans are:

Susana graduated from the Actor Training School of the ICR in 1971 and made her debut as a radio announcer, later becoming a substitute actress on Cuban television in 1972. This marked the beginning of an unstoppable career spanning nearly 50 years, during which she has not only ventured into dramatic acting but also into humorous programs, children's and youth shows, radio series, tele-theater, stories, and teleplays. She has also done voice dubbing for film and television. Susana has worked as a producer in Cuba and Bolivia and has held a pedagogical role as an Adjunct Professor of Acting at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana and as a lecturer at the University of Santo Tomás in La Paz, Bolivia.

As a theater actress, she has left us with masterful performances in Cecilia Valdés, Historias de un escaparate, and Santa Camila de la Habana Vieja, among many others.

In the cinema, where she made her debut in the 1970s, she acted in around twenty films, including unforgettable titles for Cubans such as Clandestinos directed by Fernando Pérez (1987), Otra mujer directed by Daniel Díaz Torres (1987), Venir al mundo directed by Miguel Torres (1989), Pon tu pensamiento en mí and Amor Vertical directed by Arturo Sotto (1997), Aunque estés lejos directed by Juan Carlos Tabío (2003), and Perfecto amor equivocado directed by Gerardo Chijona (2004)

Among Susana Pérez's most significant awards and recognitions are the Distinction for National Culture, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Cuba in 1993, and the Girasol de la Popularidad awarded by Revista Opina in the years 1981, 1982, 1983, 1984, and 1986.

In 2008, he emigrated to Miami, where he has continued to achieve success and has reunited with a part of his audience and many professional colleagues with whom he has continued to share projects

In 2015, he appeared alongside his son Roberto San Martín and Reinaldo Miravalles in the short film THE EMPTY HOUSE, inspired by one of the stories from the short story collection "A Cuban Tells" by Lilo Vilaplana.

In October 2016, she returned to Havana alongside other actresses as part of the cast of one of the plays premiered during the 16th Havana Theatre Festival, Volver a La Habana, by Raquel Carrió. The play debuted at the Teatro Buendía to a full house, with people sitting on the floor and a large crowd waiting outside unsuccessfully to get in.

In 2016, they reunited in Miami on the show El Happy Hour de Carlucho with part of the cast of the popular soap opera "Sol de Batey." That same year, they launched a channel on YouTube titled "La Pérez con Mayúsculas."

In January 2020, Susana Pérez, along with Alberto Pujol and Roberto San Martín, began filming the short film Clave in Tampa, directed by fellow Cuban Alex Argilés.

In July 2020, Susana lent her voice to a video for Donald Trump's electoral campaign aimed at attracting the Cuban vote. This led to harsh criticism from a government-affiliated journalist on the island, who referred to her as "ex-Cuban." In response to such statements, the actress has received unanimous support from her colleagues and all of her followers both on the island and abroad.
