The wife of Cuban leader Miguel Díaz-Canel and not the first lady of the island, Lis Cuesta Peraza, joined this Sunday the wave of support that reggaeton artist El Taiger is receiving, who is in serious condition after being shot in the head last Thursday.

In a first post, Cuesta wrote on the social network X: “Simultaneously, in several cities in Cuba and in Miami, there are people holding vigils for the life of El Taiger, a very popular urban artist there and here, who was the victim of a violent crime in South Florida.”

He then added to the Facebook post of the Cuban Institute of Music: “The Cuban nation is one, even though hatred seeks to divide it. We wish for their recovery and strength to their family and friends.”

Cuesta's message, who often forcibly mixes some themes, did not go unnoticed. For example, the renowned journalist Mario J. Pentón wrote: "And of course, the NOT First Lady of the Cuban dictatorship takes the opportunity to politicize the expressions of solidarity towards El Taiger."

José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, one of the most important urban singers on the island, was seriously injured last week and is currently fighting for his life at Jackson Memorial Hospital, located in Miami, Florida.
