Milton unleashed his fury in Florida: Flooding, tornadoes, and at least six dead.

The images of the damage are shocking.


Hurricane Milton is now moving away from Florida, but its passage through the state has so far left six dead and a significant trail of damage.

In addition to flooding, Milton left a large amount of damage caused not only by its winds but also by the 19 confirmed tornadoes, nine of them in South Florida, that preceded the very landfall of the phenomenon.

Milton made landfall this Wednesday as a category 3 hurricane on the west coast of the U.S. state of Florida, specifically near Siesta Key, south of Tampa.

As it passed through the state, from west to east, the powerful weather phenomenon left stunning images.

The devastating winds of Hurricane Milton tore off the roof of Tropicana Field, home of the professional baseball team Tampa Bay Rays, which had also been set up as a shelter.

A crane at the top of a building in the city of St. Petersburg collapsed, causing serious damage to the building that houses the Tampa Bay Times.

Disney World in Orlando also didn't escape Milton. Unique images on social media showed flooding and the iconic entrance of the amusement park transformed into a small lake.

However, at the domestic level, the worst was experienced by residents in areas where some of the tornadoes devastated, especially in St. Lucie County, where at least four people died.

In St. Pete, authorities confirmed that two more people lost their lives, bringing the total to six deaths so far, although the number is expected to rise.

Numerous homes and structures throughout St. Lucie County, including the city of Port St. Lucie and unincorporated areas, suffered significant damage.

In Venice, in Sarasota County, some coastal houses were literally swallowed by the sand.

The hurricane left more than three million customers without power, according to the accounting of the specialized website PowerOutage. The counties of Pinellas, Manatee, and Hillsborough were the most affected.

Additionally, several cities like St. Petersburg have experienced water supply cuts.

Flood and landslide alerts remain in effect due to the amount of rain left by Hurricane Milton.

In the Palm Beach area, five injuries were reported, and in Tampa, 16 people were rescued from among fallen trees.
