The world of Cuban music is in mourning for the death of El Taiger, one of the most influential exponents of Cuban reguetón. José Manuel Carbajal passed away on October 10 in Miami, a week after he received a gunshot wound to the head. His tragic death has shocked the music industry, friends, family, and fans around the world, who will forever remember him through his songs.

Throughout his career, El Taiger managed to take his music beyond the borders of Cuba, reaching an international audience and leaving a legacy in the genre.

One of the standout moments in his career was his participation in the soundtrack of the movie Fast and Furious 8 (2017), where he collaborated on the song "La Habana" alongside José Manuel Pinto and Ricky Luna. The song was featured in the eighth installment of the famous franchise, which was partially filmed in Cuba, boosting its international exposure, as the movie was one of the highest-grossing films.

In addition to featuring in this movie, two songs by El Taiger appear in the video game Far Cry 6, which is set on the fictional island of Yara, inspired by Cuba, where players lead a rebellion against a dictatorial regime.

The songs by the Cuban singer that appear in this video game are "Nada que ver con na," which also features El Keru and Dj Conds, and "La Pegadera" with Damián.

In addition to this song, which his fans continue to listen to, El Taiger remained at the top of reggaeton thanks to songs that became true anthems and positioned him as a reference in Cuban music.

Notable songs from his repertoire include "La Historia," his most well-known song, and his collaboration "Coronamos," in which he collaborated with Bad Bunny and J Balvin.

Despite his unfortunate passing, his music will continue to play in playlists, keeping his memory alive.
